According to Jimmy Johnson (in the 1960's studio guitarist and sound engineer for Rick Hall's FAME Studio in Muscle Shoals, AL. and in 1969 co-founder of the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section and Muscle Shoals Sound Studio) and David Hood (in the 1960's studio bassist for FAME and also co-founder of the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section and Muscle Shoals Sound Studio) Duane Allman plays on Rockin' Chair.

About 'Happiness':
The liner notes of the CD 'The Ovations Featuring Louis Williams: Goldwax Recordings' (Ace Records / Kent Soul (UK), CDKEND 246, 2005) reveal that the master numbers for 'Happiness' and 'Rockin' Chair' are 9150 and 9151.
And in the liner notes of the CD 'The Goldwax Story Volume 2' (Ace Records / Kent Soul (UK), CDKEND 225, 2004) Quinton Claunch tells about The Ovations: " 'Happiness' was recorded at FAME. Well we had a pretty good hit with 'Wonderful Love' and Rick [Hall] had these writers down there. Dan Penn and Spooner Oldham. Me and Rick talked three or four times a week and we wanted to get a song on the next record and he commissioned Dan and Spooner to come up with a song. They came up with 'Rockin' Chair' and 'I'm Living Good' and we recorded 'Happiness' at the same session."
